A distinct and pleasing characteristic of Albertslund is its cycling infrastructure. The wide thoroughfares are smooth and each set of steps has a built in ramp. Cycle lanes cover every metre. I only ever saw one cycle padlocked and chained. It seems people can just park their bike up unlocked and return to it safe in the knowledge that it’ll still be there waiting for them. It would surely have gone in 30 seconds in London.
