‘The Hostel’ – Portraits

‘The Cricketers Hostel’ is so named as it exists in the old “Cricketers Pub’ in Elephant and Castle. I decided to move in and spend a week with the residents – as a resident – and photograph the daily happenings and faces in the hostel. The residents of the Hostel are a mixed bunch, unusually there are some old-timers, some who have stayed there for years, and travellers who stay for a week or two and move on. The stories: varied, interesting, sad, hopeful and true, were shared with me, along with the opportunity to take formal portraits. Thanks goes to all who participated and made me feel very welcome. It was quite an experience!
